Microsoft plans to build a mobile device software platform as ubiquitous as Windows, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said in his keynote address at this year's CTIA wireless conference. Ballmer unveiled the company's mobile computing platform, the Microsoft System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008, saying Microsoft intends to apply the same formula to the mobile computing world.
